One of the most relevant programs for the Foundation is in relation to health, and has been well received by neighboring communities. The community has a doctor a dentist and resident nurse. Our health program initiated by giving priority to prevention and good infant nutrition to those around, and includes periodical checks to the adult population and we also provide medical assistance in the case of accidents. Unfortunately, due to the lack of funds and reduced personnel, we have not been able to implement a more compete program. We have continually searched for assistance from the government institutions and private organizations to extend our aim, which is to have the area of health as a social service. However at the present time, the members of the Foundation, residents of the Durika Community, see the possibility of passing on the experience of natural medicine that has been acquired over the length of time. Therefore with the support of FundeCooperacion and Holland, an Integral Alternative Medicine Center (IAMC) which the inhabitants of the neighboring towns, general visitors and the members of the community, can combine services of natural health with the enjoyment of nature. With this program, the Foundation tries to improve health as an alternative process to the traditional, offering rehabilitation services in a sane, friendly and natural environment. The Center has a Massage Room, a Sauna, Therapeutic Room, a Medical Office and a laboratory where natural products are made to sell and also for use in the Center itself, products such as shampoo, creams and herbal teas.
